“Help, I Can’t Decide!”

Tuesday, November 15th, 2011

I don’t know how many times I’ve heard my clients state that it can be overwhelming to choose photos and come up with impressive  arrangements for home display.    I can certainly empathize.  It can be hard to make decisions and even harder to envision how a photo will look on your wall.   One of the biggest misconceptions about photo prints is that an 8×10 is considered a large  print.  In reality, an 8×10 is more of a desktop sized print.  Here is an example of what an 8×10 will look like above a mantle:

Now here is the same photo sized to  30×40:

The 8×10 seems to be swallowed by the wall, but the large print really makes a statement above the mantle.   8×10′s will, however, look great as part of a group of photos on a wall.

The possibilities are really endless when it comes to creating beautiful layouts.  Here is one that I want to order for myself!  It is comprised of  four 20×20 prints.  If you have a small home or low ceilings, you could easily scale it down a little and have four 10×10 or 12×12 photos.

The following is a grouping of  a 24×30, a 10×15, and a 12×15.

If you find yourself paralyzed by indecision, please don’t hesitate to contact me!  I’m here to help if you ever need it.  I can do a sample layout using your photos so you can have a visual of the end product.  Like I said earlier, the possibilities are endless!

Gina & Mike’s Engagement Session

Monday, November 7th, 2011

I had a great shoot a few weeks back with Gina & Mike.  Gina mentioned to me during pre-shoot consultations that Mike is a photographer.  So, of course, I felt a little nervous going into the shoot.   But, as soon as I met this couple, I felt at ease.  These two are super cute together and a perfect match.

I think it’s important to document a couple’s hands during an engagement shoot or wedding.

I can just imagine looking back on a photo like this 50 years from now and seeing how much has changed over time.

I love how happy Gina looks in this next shot…

Streetlights like the one in the following photo are a hallmark of the town Mike and Gina are from.  So, they requested to get a shot with one of them.  Very pretty!

Oh, and here’s a shot of Gina’s ring complete with a princess cut chocolate diamond!  Good job, Mike!

Thanks so much  for a great shoot!   Best of luck with your wedding planning!
